What an odd theme. no idea

WideWebWitch · 14/09/2007 09:05

here#s a colonial dress thing but suspect they mean English

Piggy · 14/09/2007 09:05

Agree. Very odd. I think it was at a "colonial" party that Prince Harry wore that Nazi outfit.

WideWebWitch · 14/09/2007 09:06

colonial dress codes
But it is an odd theme, do they really want you to dress up or is it just a theme?

WideWebWitch · 14/09/2007 09:07

Sorry, second link is also USA on looking. I suspect they are thinking British Raj rather than Virginia. But it's still v odd.

seeker · 14/09/2007 09:20

I suggest one doesn't go!

heifer · 14/09/2007 09:35

Well I would think it would be more like

this

As soon as I read it I thought of my FIL, whom I never met, but was a British diplomat in Nigeria and I have seen photos of him with a curly tash and cravat etc, and my MIL looking very demur next to him...

bluesky · 14/09/2007 09:39

it's for my mum, apparently 1920's Colonial theme. I think 1920's will be more helpful now that she's told me that. Don't think I've ever seen her in fancy dress!

Hmmm - not very politically correct that one is it?

A strange one............

southeatsastras · 14/09/2007 09:40

tenko is on at the moment that should give you some ideas

EricL · 14/09/2007 09:43

Aahh - 1920's. That's a bit better. Just drop the colonial bit and it sounds a bit easier now.
