have just bought some things from tridias.com for dd's party - the plates and cups were cheaper than tesco's partyware!

Nbg · 31/08/2007 14:15

Thanks for the suggestions.

Well dd has a slight obsession with Disney cars (so much for pretty fairy stuff and butterflies) and dh said get her what she wanted, sooooooo I have bought off ebay, balloons, cups, plates, table cloth and party bags. All disney cars too.

All thats left is the party bag fillers and pass the parcel pressie.

Great link Collision. Thanks.

I have been looking for the same thing this morning.

Wilko have cheapo electonic pet/keyrings for 99p.

Home bargain have ladybird disney stories for 49p.

At least the Stafford branches do!

mummydoc · 31/08/2007 14:35

why do you feel you need bags ? we don't do party bags in the mummydoc house...

MrsPuddleduck · 31/08/2007 14:36

We do bags because they seem to be expected.

To make it worse we are actually having a Wacky Warehouse party where they supply bags as part of the price but the lady who took the booking told me that thier bags were really not very good and I would need to supplement them with extra sweets etc!!!!

maisemor · 31/08/2007 14:45

We put in a pen (one of those where you click it and it write in green, click another bit and it writes in black/red/blue) and a little pad, a Kit Kat (we did the wrapping of this printed off a picture of our daugther with her age on it if you see what I mean), and a piece of her Barbie cake (that she made herself).

For prices we used Mr Men books, because it is just so much easier for you to wrap a book than so many other things.

I usually do
Book from Book People
balloon
choc bar
piece of cake
One small geegaw on party theme (eg pirate stickers/rainbow pencil/film keyring for this year's events in Clary towers)

I luurrve party bags and so do the kids (sorry hatwoman) also they are a way to say to everyone "now please take this bag and bog off, I need to clear up" excellent.

I once took DS1 to his friends 3rd birthday party and adults were invited to stay, there was loads of champagne and every alcoholic drink you could think of, salmon, caviar, and lots of posh food etc and all the adults got a party bag containing a small bottle of wine or beer, a choccy bar, a party popper and a condom !!!
It was very OTT

HappyMummyOfOne · 07/09/2007 14:50

Only made party bags once but the boys had a matchbox car and the girls had hair bobbles. Everybody got a party size playdough, bouncy ball, small bubbles and a chocolate bar.

VoluptuaGoodshag · 07/09/2007 14:58

I've just done mine for a 4 year old's party. Got things of Tish Tash Toys online.

Stretchy man
water pistol
maltesers
balloon
lollipop
a bit of cake

FLIER · 07/09/2007 15:05

My DS 4th party bags had:- Lazytown crayons and bubbles from ebay, personalised. A punch-balloon, a miniature choccy bar from multi pack and a slice of birthday cake.

MummyJules · 08/09/2007 18:16

Just ordered party bags for DD's birthday. She is having an underwater theme:

The bag will be a blue paper one with a homemade named sticker and will have a squishy water thing, a water squirter, a chocolate fish, some bubbles ( a big hit in the party bag world!), some stickers and a piece of cake. I prefer to give toys that aren't incredibly tacky and not loads of sweets.

I got all my stuff very reasonably here

Hope that helps!

MarcellusLadinium · 08/09/2007 18:29
