Food and music ideas for a 'grown ups' party

We're having a party and I'm beginning to panic!! Haven't had a house party for ages.
I need ideas for food and music please.
I don't really want to do food but feel the need to do something more than crisps - what would you expect if invited to a party and any ideas for food?

Most people coming are in their thirties and forties so the music will probably be mainly 80s. Dh and I like Brit pop and rock music but perhaps not that great for dancing. What would get you dancing? (Apart from copious amounts of alcohol)
TIA

Designate a bartender and have loads of diffrent cocktails

Lots of champagne

Thanks PPB.
Thought I'd do some pitchers for cocktails. Anti pasta a good idea and I'll check out Martha Stewart.

In the summer sales I bet you could find all sorts of plastic cocktail glasses
