My sister is looking for somewhere to hold a christening party in the Purley (and south of...) area. Hotels seem to be too expensive so really looking for somewhere she can do her own catering or reasonably priced per head menus. Any ideas would be gratefully received as family christening dress will be too small unless we find somewhere soon!!!

has she tried local pubs??? most have rooms for parties thats were we had the girls christening and due to the no smoking laws it is ideal as then people also tend to buy their own drinks etc and you can pay for catering at a reasonable rate

We had a bit of a dilemma for ds christening, the place we had booked (my hospitals social club) decided they couldnt provide a bar {shock] so 2 days before I had to find another venue.
It was fathers day so no pubs wanted us.
We ended up in the Bowling Club which was ok, food was average but they didnt charge for the room hire which was great.

Try local social clubs/sports clubs/pubs function rooms etc

Hope you get it sorted
