Jelly and Ice Cream - what was your favourite party food?

I'm trying to sort out my daughter's first birthday party and I want to have a traditional birthday tea for a few family and friends. I've been searching the internet but so far only come up with a few ideas. As DD is first grandchild and we're among the first of our group of friends to have a baby it's mainly going to be adults so I'm not worried about E numbers or excessive levels of things that are bad for you.... to be honest I'm starting the cambridge diet a week later as I promised myself I would stop BF when she was 1 and then it would be 'me' time, to lose babyweight (and if i'm being honest all the weight I gained since getting married too!) so the more treats the better!

So far things on the list, other than the cake, reminiscent of a birthday party of the late 70s/early 80s are:
Jelly and ice cream (in shape of rabbit with lime jelly for grass); cheese and pineapple(stuck in orange half covered in tin foil); sausage rolls; sandwiches; monster munch; wotsits; cadbury's chocolate animals and fingers; iced party rings; and then I go a bit blank.

Please delve into your memory banks and hit me with it... all suggestions welcome

Sausages on sticks, rice crispie cakes, French Fancies (square cakes with a blob of creamy stuff on top all covered in icing. No idea if you can still get them).

brilliant - rice crispie cakes.... yum! I think it's a good job that i'll be going on diet after the party! french fancies were a favourite with my antenatal group - still around and still yummy

loving wagon wheels too... only think I will be slightly disappointed that they will now be the size of a viscount biscuit as I seem to remember they were huge!
