Joint 30th & 1st ideas

I’m pretty early in this, but my husband’s 30th and DS’s 1st are both in Jan 2019. I want to plan a joint party for them, as they’re both big birthdays and would be the same invite list for both.

I’m drawing a blank on a theme/approach though. Any clever ideas??

A 90s theme would make sense for my husband, as he was born on the first day of the 90s (jan 1, 1990), but not sure how to make it work for DS too.

I would suggest going with your 90's theme (or whatever theme you settle on for your husband) and planning the event and day to suit your DP and then having 2 desert/cake tables, one for each celebrant. Depending on number and age of kids attending as well as your budget, you could have a kids entertainer for 1hr too (adults enjoy a good magic show too).

Don’t. It doesn’t work. Have 2 separate events or, if just one, just have one for your DH.

@PotteringAlong Have you tried this and it didn't work out? Would be interested to know why
