kids eating on floor at parties opinions

hi everyone I've arranged my daughter's 4th birthday party in a hall with an entertainer. the problem I'm having is room for 40 kids to sit doen and eat at a table my husband had an idea of putting all the food on the table and putting a huge table cloth on the floor in the lounge area just off the hall that we also have access to and letting kids have a picnic type lunch on the floor. would you be happy with your kids eating on the floor or would you think it was wrong.

Big picnic blanket on the floor, no problem. Lunch boxes would be easier than them all balancing floppy plates full of crisps and juice boxes to and fro.

It would be better with ready made up cardboard lunchboxes. That way no one is wandering around tripping over others.

The other option is sit them all down in a big circle on the mat and offer the food round to them. Works with pizza, might be a bit fiddly with bits & pieces type party food.
