Party booze

How much alcohol do I need to buy for a ‘drinks & nibbles’ party to celebrate a 40th? And what types? Beer, cider, spirits?
25-30 people coming, obviously will provide lots of mixers/diff soft drinks & shed loads of bubbly but it’s all the rest I’m not sure about....😳

In your house ? Won't people automatically 'bring a bottle' ?

You know your 'crowd' . Compared with posters on so many MN threads, I'm clearly a lightweight in the alcohol consumption so might not be the best to guesstimate for you, but I'd take into account how many will be drinking and how many will be driving. Then I'd get something that you'l be likely to rink next week / the week after / over Christmas if it doesn't all go. I'd stick to wine and some bottle lager and then some lemonade and juice, but this is so different with different groups of people.
