Help me plan a menu!!

Party: sons 4th birthday disco, about 50 people adults & kids.
Limited seating so only finger food. Nothing that requires cutlery
Limited time to prep (about an hour in the morning then everything has to sit in fridges/sides for a couple of hours)

So far I got...

  1. Cheese & tomato sandwiches
  2. Ham & cucumber sandwiches
  3. Cheese & Ham mini wraps
  4. Sausage rolls
  5. Carrot & cucumber sticks & humus
  6. Pita and dip
7...

Obviously will be plenty of cakes and crisps and all the good stuff but need some serious inspiration when it comes to some savoury goods.
Any ideas will be welcome!!

Massive bowl of mini sausages always goes down well

Good old cocktail sticks with cheese, Sausages and pickled onions

Op that will be fine. Toddlers don't eat apart from cake and crisps.

FWIW I might make the sandwiches single ingredient ie ham, cheese, cream cheese, as IME little ones when they do eat sandwiches often prefer it simple.

You sound like someone who enjoys making a wonderful spread and that’s great. If however I have got that wrong and actually you just want to fill bellies, dump all the homemade stuff and get pizzas delivered. It goes down an absolute treat, and it’s by far the most successful party food I have done. If you ring a week before you can always get a discount as mornings/afternoons are quiet. Allow 1.5 slices per child and 2 per adult and you will have ample.

Can't beat a classic lol I was at a party recently n shamelessly ate them all

Will deffo take note at the single ingredients. Although party includes quite a few hungry teenagers too (cousins) so the 35ish kids range from 1 to 14.

Last party I did a BBQ and the food ran out before some of the guests had even arrived... my MIL had to run out and buy more so I'm hoping to be more prepped this time!! 😬😬

Don't bother with sandwiches, far too time consuming to make, you will never manage to make sandwiches for 50 people in an hour!
Order pizza instead, much more fun!!

Fruit kebabs or even just cut up pineapple, watermelon. strawberries etc.

OlennasWimple · 25/10/2018 01:12

Party rings
Twiglets
Cherry tomatoes (cut in half)
Pizza slices

I can try making pizza at home and serving it cold but ordering pizza for 50+ people just isn't cost effective.

What about veggie options? Any quick canapés I can whip up?
