I need inspiration. What do you buy the nearly-60 year olds that have everything they want?

Previous presents have centred around photos of the kids, books, music, stuff like that. I want to make this one a bit special but can't think of anything!

Digital photo album?

Songbird · 07/06/2007 14:43

For my mum's 60th I bought a beautiful traditional album and dug out all the 'classic' old family photos of me and 3 bros from birth to today, and photos of the 6 grandchildren from birth to today. It took me fecking ages and was up until 2am the night before her birthday! But it was worth it, she absolutely loved it. For my dad's 60th me and the bros clubbed together and bought a flying lesson, a very nice bottle of whiskey, some vintage champagne and other bits and bobs.

Tickets for a show?

Songbird · 07/06/2007 14:47

oh yeah, i knew there was something else, we also got mum tickets to see david essex! Always her fave when we were young!

Depends on budget really. Tickets for something they'd love to see, a weekend away or pay for a great meal out - either with or without family.

theatre/opera tickets

I think paying for a trip or event would be lovely. You could perhaps club together with other family members to make it more affordable.
