Parties/celebrations

Whether you're planning a birthday or a hen do, you'll find plenty of ideas for your celebration on our Party forum.

I have refined the food to buy for ds1's party. Please look. Feel free to point out flaws, but don't have a bunfight about it please.

They go down well as nibbles too though (finger food )

colditz, your original list was lush. I would only change the sausage rolls for mini sausages. Sod the healthy crap. My DS 3 loves raw carrot, pepper, grapes apples, oranges etc. anything in its raw state including spuds. I'm sure not all 3 yo are like this. If they are still hungry when they arrive home. due to fussiness, their parents can give them a bowl of weetabix before bed.

Colditz do chicken drumsticks for parents!!!

newgirl · 08/04/2007 22:41

whats wrong with a few carrots/cucumber sticks? most of the kids under five i know will eat a few - cheap as well. at the very least all the dieting mums will eat them

pointydog · 08/04/2007 22:59

your original list was purrfick.

Have you bought it yet? Has the party happened?

colditz · 09/04/2007 01:33

Ahhhh

I bought

Teeny rolls - with ham, cheese, egg, and chicken
3 for £5 tubs of little cakey things
a bag of salad leaves
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Strawberries
Too Many Crisps
Icecream
Party Pack, which had sausage rolls, mini sausages, bacon bites, and savoury eggs
Lemonade, coke and Apple Juice

The adults drank the fizzy - only the 8 year old even wanted any! the rest seemed to want juice or water, which wqas cool.

All the sausages got gallumphed in seconds, as did the strawberries! I was surprised, I thought more crsps would be eaten, but no.

you were told about sausages, colditz. There can never be too many sausages at a party.

Glad it went well
