DD2 has asked for a High School Musical party. Now, whilst I vaguely know what it is (she watched the DVD at a friend's) I have no ideas for a party other than buying the dvd and sticking them in front of it.

I love doing theme parties, the party bags, the cake, the whole shebang, but am utterly lacking in inspiration for this one. Should I bully her into having a craft party instead? Or do any of you have any other ideas? Normally I'm so enthused and I just feel blah about this one.

how old is she?? Could they watch the dvd makes some pizzas eat some ice cream etc etc??

how is your dancing? Could you teach them the moves to a dance? On the DVD is a "learn the moves" section !

Have seen another thread on this recently might be worth a look !

What about a drama session - sing along to some musical numbers - I am thinking phantom of the opera, grease etc...
teach them a dance - get a routine going

you could ask a local dance group if there are any girls/boys who would like to earn £20

DD went to a party recently - hired church hall, a few games, then ac ouple of teenage girls taught them a dance routine - when parents arrived to pick them up, they showed us all the dance. it was lovely!

DS aged 2 then, joined in

If you have a PS2 there is an interactive dance game that is good fun

Gulp! Thanks ever so much for your ideas but it is just what I feared. My dancing skills extend only to bopping around to The Smiths in a vaguely alternative manner and my singing is for bathtime only; we don't have a PS2, or a karaoke machine, or anything - arghhhh. I like the making pizzas and icecream sundaes idea.

The problem is, I'm a teacher and I run their birthday parties with military precision usually - this all seems a bit too lose for my liking. Any more ideas, suggestions of other themes etc would be hugely appreciated.

sorry - should say "loose" not "lose"
