Have decided to let the kids make pizzas for ds1's birthday party rather then do loads of food.

Should i ask on the invitations what toppings the kids like or just buy a selection and wing it on the day???

I'd just get a selection.
Otherwise you might end up with really weird concoctions.

Anyone for a smartie and cheese string pizza?

What a great idea! I agree, just get a selection of toppings.

I've done this with dd for her birthday and it was great. Just put out dishes of toppings and left them to it. For afters they had fairy cakes to decorate- just moved pizza stuff away and put out cakes, icing etc. Everyone ended up with their own meal of their own choices. They loved it.

I'd just get a selection too. Ham, cheese, mushroom, pepper, tomato chunks, red onions, chicken maybe, sweetcorn...

DS went to a make your own pizza party and loved it, he has been wanting peas on a pizza again ever since - and I always forget!

was just gonna get a tub of vanilla ice cream for afters and put out some sprinkles, smarties, jelly tots etc and sauces and let them gorge them sleves til they explode (then take them to the park to play football )

Meant to say that as alternative(or as well!) make your own sundaes!
