Ideas for ds 9th brithday celebration

Wondering what to do for ds' 9th in a month's time. We will have just moved house so loathe to commit to anything at home - sleepover or tea - in case we're still in chaos. Had thought of cinema plus pizza for half a dozen or so . Does anyone know of a suitable film which may be coming out in time ? To do karting or bowling means expecting parents to drive about half an hour btw.

Trying to remember what we did for DD1 & DD2 - bowling and pizza for first, and climbing wall and party at home for second (climbing wall was part of school fundraiser - lucky me!). You could try phoning your local cinema to find out what's coming up - got no joy googling "cinema coming soon"!! How about taking them swimming? Or taking them to an "attraction" for the afternoon - a friend in Edinburgh took her DS and friends on a Close Tour and they loved it!
