70th Birthday

It's my Dad's 70th next week and, despite racking my brains, can't think of ways to make it special. I don't have loads to spend, so no fancy restaurants or anything, and Dad doesn't want a party..... Any ideas please Mumsnetters???

Photo book of family pictures, particularly his childhood if you can find some.

Are you musical/talented? Each take a turn (grandchildren?) at singing/playing songs that he would enjoy, children do a dance routine/magic show - like Royal Variety Show with your dad the guest of honour and then have a buffet? You could make a nice invite.

Thank you all - some lovely ideas. Will see what photos I can dig out! We're not musical, but you have inspired me to make a play list of songs that he grew up with, his favourites and songs that remind me of him. So, hopefully I can make the day feel a bit more special. Thanks again!
