I like clarity and would far prefer to know what is expected of me than wonder, so I was going to put the following on the back of party invites that I'm sending out for DD tomorrow. "Sorry, but I haven't got space for siblings (babies excepted of course!!). You are very welcome to stay and join us for a glass of wine or two, or you can drop and leave if you like as long as your child is ok with that". It's DDs 4th birthday and we're doing it at home. I really don't want to start another "should you invite siblings" thread, they always end up in a ruck!, but I'd appreciate your opinions on whether it's ok to be so blunt on the invite!!

Think that sounds clear, friendly and unambiguous - wouldn't be offended by it at all

Very friendly and to the point. I would think this was a very helpful note. Hope your DD enjoys her party.

Sounds fine. Make sure you have enough adult helpers though, 4yos can be a handful.

Thanks for the feedback. The intention is to be helpful, but people seem to take offence at the funniest things sometimes!
