11 year of football party

So, wise people, help me!!!

DS is 11 soon and we have party landed at the local leisure centre. He is go football mad, so booked a football party, which is basically an hour in the hall with all football equipment supplied, then an hour in a meeting room for cake/food, etc.

He wants to invite his whole class, including girls and I'm not sure how many girls will have fun at a football party. So what else could I plan, as an extra in case anyone is bored or doesn't want to play football.

Any ideas????

Could you ask the leisure centre if they know a junior football coach who might be able to give you some fun football games to play? Or even if they could 'host' it? There's loads of games the DC at football training that are fun.

Well, I booked it as it was advertised as having a football coach with the kids but then they told me that the coach had left so that's that!

I have asked them about a bouncy castle maybe, so will see what they say. I just want another activity set up just in case, but not sure what!

Football parties at this age really only work for kids who play football as they will hog the ball unless there is an adult organising them in some way to do drills or football related games which don't just favour those who are good at football. You could see if your local JFC has a coach who could come along to organise proceedings.

Our sports centre also has things like badminton or table tennis in the sports hall but this doesn't accomodate many football refusniks.

Or you could say on the invite - if you don't want to play football, come later just for the tea bit and organise some games yourself for that.
