what, just blow up and balloon and smother it it goopy paper? that would get smashed after one hit wotn it? unless you cover it in inches thick.

I have made one and I they are fun to make

More than three layers of newpaper and they don't seem to smash at all easily - think mine broke from the string and fell to the ground rather than break. Oh and remember to grease the balloon so it doesn't collase the pinata as you buurst it.

Have tried making a pinata - trust me, life's too short - just buy one!!

Let the kids help with the crepe paper. Lizp is so right about the newspaper. You might think it won't hold but it will.
