Decide on a theme & then work from there - what does she like ?? Princess / Pirates / Pop stars / movies,.....

Depends if you want to do the party at home or go somewhere else for it. Possible home parties - cooking or arty party or one where someone teaches them dance routines? Outside parties - climbing wall, ice-skating, etc - it really depends where you live and what facilities are within travelling distance.

I have two 'girly' girls, so can't be much help on that kind of thing. Perhaps speak to someone with boys about martial arts things?! (sorry)

We're in the North West I'd do anything to make it special for her.
She's arty and likes making things. There's a paint pottery place at the top of the road but another girl in her class has already had one there.

How about an Oriental theme then - she can wear karate stuff & others can wear girlie chinese type things ?? Food should be easy !

What about a Build a Bear party? Or the climbing wall sounds good, the ones in Warrington or Liverpool are supposedly good. What about a trampolining party at your local leisure centre or swimming party? Bowling? Get lots of pottery type things to paint at home?

Perhaps the pottery place does "takeaway" parties? That way you could decorate with an Oriental theme and paint pots.. eg urn type pots.

Which then makes me think about you all making Chinese lanterns. Perhaps you could have a Chinese New Year theme?

Make sure that the people she ants to invite are into it too though - if its too adventurous it might put some off maybe??

Plus she isn't popular - her words not mine so I want to make the popular ones eye's pop out with jealousy at what a fantastic party DD and all the other unpopulars were having

Don't think it would be too much of a problem - even the unadventurous ones would probably want to have a go and they would be well supervised.

DS was 7 a fortnight ago. we took him and a few mates to the cinema, and then to a Chinese buffet for a meal. He was the first in his circle to have a cinema party, I've done traditional parties in the past, and the film was a big success. It was really easy to organise, and the children felt grown up. The buffet meant they all had food they liked. Any good as an idea?

So I think you should go for something quite sophisticated and grown up and with limited numbers for maximum cool value. Ideally something not just anyone can do. Tell us more about her.

All depends on your budget of course. You could hire local hall quite cheap then go mad on the decorating, hire bouncy castle, do an ice cream factory etc.

My DD went to a girly makeover party at a soft play place where they had a beauty "therapist" in a tunic doing make up and hair things. They all loved it, OK that is totaly girly, but best bit according to DD was coming home in a limo, could get a fireengine limo, bit more tomboy.

Or what about a party bus, parks up outside house and they party away on the bus.

Any snow places near you, the one near us does sledging, skiing or snowboarding parties. They have a climbing wall along with a air thing and a aerial climb thing but you have to be 8 yrs.

For DS we were going to do a Italian Job party, watch video, hire 3 minis and order in pizzas, never managed it though.

L is a booky type i guess, she loves drawing and being in her own company really, she has one best friend, who actually i don't think is much of a friend but there we go.
She also has the other sort of not the clinqy group who get along nicely about 8 of them boys and girls.

Could you do a movie themed party? I don't know, something like Freaky Friday and let them have grown up type stuff like cocktail glasses and make up (not booze, obv!) or a Spykids party where they have to give a password to get in and have listening devices and things (they're cheap, will be even cheaper now stocking filler season is over) or something like that? Do yuo have a dvd player? You could hand out pop corn and hotdogs and cinema tickets. You could make the invitation a cinema ticket with her phot on it, that kind of thing. Dh specialises in fantastic invites so one year ds was a Star Wars character on the invite, another it was exactly the size and shape of a Yu gi oh card with ds as a yu gi oh character, that kind of thing. you want to build anticipation and cool factor imo. Poor love re the no friends comment.
