Last year for my dds 6th birthday I made a pretty good fairy tale castle cake which she really loved. This year, I want to do a mermaid sort of thing, but can find no good books showing me a good picture and I'm not arty enough to make something up! Anybody any good at making party cakes or know of any good books - need some ideas fast as will have to get stuff early next week. I know I could go to tescos but I just can't bring myself to buy a cake - it's a sad hang up from my childhood, when my mum did all her own baking (and still does - who am I trying to impress?!!)I'd be very grateful for any help.
