I've always loved event planning so it was inevitable that I'd get into doing the kids parties - and I get a bit obsessed... Ds is coming up four and is still into the octonauts - Yey! Octonauts party planning is go :)

We did hungry caterpillar for his first and Thomas for his third. Poor dd didn't have a theme for her first this year as I realised one year olds don't care but I can't wait for next.

Any ideas are welcome. I've spent all evening on pinterest and ebay and have invites and party bag loot on order :)

I go a little bit crazy on Pinterest when it's my son's parties and I spend ages planning it.
I order the happy meal style cardboard boxes and chip scoops to put food in to cut down on washing up.
Treasure hunts, den building and lego building often feature in different guises and has been popular for the past few birthdays (ages 6-8)

Yey - a response! :) ooh, Lego building, that sounds like a great idea - in what guise? His little friend loves Lego...
I went into town the other day and drew a complete blank when I was thinking of what I need for his Octonauts party. I have a Pinterest board so will refresh my memory with that. The invitations I've ordered from an eBay seller look fab though :)

We put the kids in small groups and separated the Lego so they all had a roughly equal amount and set them a challenge to build a house. The builders of the best one go a prize. We were surprised how long the kids wanted to do this for and they were very quiet, which was a bonus!

Good luck with the Octonauts party; it sounds fab.

Some people make entire careers out of it :D
