OK, we are having a wedding anniversary party in 6 weeks, we have hired the place, sorted food etc, now have been told DJ not available.

I have been phoning round trying to get a DJ and mostly book and ones not booked looking at £150+, to me seems a hell of a lot of money. Thinking do we really need one?. There will be about 30/40 guests so we do need some form of entertainment, just wondered if anyone had some suggestions.

I would have thought you would need some sort of entertainment. Could the hall you have booked recommend one?

What about Karoke, a jazz band, 'Casino Night' or a local live band that would be glad of a gig. Get some ideas from Here

What about a juke box - people then can pick what they want.

I second the idea of the compilation CD's. We did that for our wedding and it was much more successful at getting people dancing than the DJ.

You could include special songs like the one that was No1 when you got engaged/got married/concieved etc.
