It's for MiL's 70th.
She lives alone, it's quite trendy, a little overweight and not very active, likes gardening.
She doesn't have much free time just now as she's helping to care for her father who still lives alone.

She will expect something special. DH's side of the family are different to mine when it comes to birthday and Christmas gifts. I feel the pressure to spend £££.

Any ideas very gratefully recieved. Lead time must be minimal though.
And yes, DH should be sorting this but that's a whole other thread Smile

Spa vouchers
Afternoon tea somewhere lovely with champagne
A nice picture/piece of artwork
A trip to the theatre or theatre tokens
A special piece of jewellery
Kindle
A piece of garden furniture (bench, bistro set)

If you went for the Kindle you could always download a Gardening Magazine subscription or book onto it to personalise it a bit for her?

Thanks again but I've just heard back from SIL and apparently MiL likes real books (I had a feeling we'd had the conversation before Smile)
Looks like it will be John Lewis vouchers. Boring!!
