is it mad to hold a haloween party on the last sat of half term?

i promised my dd a haloween party not realising that haloween was a Tuesday. I'm thinking of having it on the Sat 28th Oct.
I was going to hold it after school on the Tuesday but she's only in reception so the kids will be all tired. I thought the sat before was a good time but I wonder do lots of people go away at half-term - will they remember to come?

it doesnt matter when you have it theyll love it and sat night is ideal as they can stay up later.send out invites before school breaks up.have a spooky time....

A few may, but not many. I regularly have a birthday party in the Saturday of the summer half term, and a surprising number of people do say they're going away, but I think autumn's different.

The big Sainsbury's has ace Halloween dressing-up frocks, btw.

We are doing ours then, agree that receptoin kids will be too tired after school.

ds has been invited to a birthday party that day. He went to the same girl's part last year on same Saturday, and lots of people came, so I wouldn't worry about it. Much better than having it on a weekday. Ds was invited to two after school weekday parties last year. One of them, not many people turned up. The other one was on the last day of term. Lots of people came, but they were all exhausted and playing up, so it was very noisy and chaotic, and ds didn't really enjoy it much.
