Help: Kids Themed Party in a Box

Hi, I run a small children's party planning company. We are preparing to launch themed party boxes that would have all the room decorations, tableware, and empty party bags to fill. Our boxes and party items are all recyclable. We specialise in creating handcrafted quality party supplies and themes. Please see the above photos for examples of our party skills Smile

The box would include supplies for 15 children:
Tissue pom poms
Streamers
Custom bunting with child's name
Balloons
Lunch boxes or plates
Cups
Straws
Table cloth
Fairy cake cups and lids
Empty decorated paper party bags
Second class Shipping costs included all for £95

Now can I ask a few questions:
-What themes would you like to see?
-Do you think the cost is sensible?
-Is there anything you feel is missing from the box?
-If you are having a party for more than 15 children we advise you buy a second box. Do you think 15 is a sensible number? Would you change it?

Thanks Mumsnet users :) you are a great group of people and I come to the forum for help with all kinds of questions about my kids!

You need much better pictures! Have a look on pinterest for some ideas you will find amazing tables laid out for kids parties, a bunch of bananas and a pineapple do not make a theme!

The cost is crazy, have a look at party pieces, can buy everything you mention from one source for much less than £95, ditto supermarkets.

I would say you need to rethink this plan in terms of the visual offering and the cost. Look at pinterest!

The cost is insanely high.

Check out Argos and the supermarkets for their pricing. I'm sure that they were for a fraction of the price.

My 8 year old would love a Minecraft theme which I don't think I've seen. A good substitute would be a pixel pattern with square shapes and minecraft colour schemes. Eg Green/brown, grey/gold, grey/light blue etc

If you're not going down the character party route can I suggest you look at catchmyparty.com. I was coincidentally looking at party stuff on Pinterest and they had posted quite a few boys and pieces.

Thanks for feedback so far!!
Yes our photos are not great. Should hire a photographer to help us out :)

The materials we work with are high quality and are often hand assembled from various materials. The party bags we have done in the past have been paper or cloth. We do not use anything plastic or with logos.

What cost would you suggest for our box?

There are quite a few party printable sites on the www and Etsy. Considering the ropy quality of my printer I would pay someone to print them out on stickers or nice paper so my pro tables looked more professional.

The issue is that all this stuff generally ends up in the bin after a party so £95 for consumables is too high. Why don't you price up an equivalent on party pieces and supermarkets for comparison? You either need to offer something better or cheaper. I guess bunting and Pom poms may be reused but rest will be shoved in the bin.

Heels99 · 15/09/2014 16:08

Frozen themed party set for 16 on party pieces is £20. Add in Pom poms and a few other bits for another £20 so still comes in at less than half the price of yours. I honestly don't think there is a business in this.

Was thinking of doing something similar but for 100 for about 8 kids including tableware, party bags PLUS fillers, decorations, games and prizes, invites as well as party food ideas and a printout of party timetable etc.
