Party bags to birthday child + sibling/s too?

DD1's 4 next week so birthday party stuff is on my mind a lot at the moment. Just interested to know how many people make up a party bag for the birthday girl/boy and their siblings too and, if so, are the contents exactly the same as the party guests?

Every child who attends the party gets a party bag - but the contents are age appropriate

I just make up a few more party bags than there are guests and hand them to any stray siblings that wander in. I cannot be arsed to categorise the party bags so they are all the same!

Only if I've got stuff left over.

my own children would be rather put out not to get a party bag as well, with exactly the same contents.
it isn't really about getting the contents, it's the fun of the bag I think.

When DD was 2 years old, I made up party bags for the other guests and didn't do one for her as she was the birthday girl and she'd been given so many presents that I thought she didn't need one, which was thoughtless of me because I was in adult mode and not thinking about how it all looked from a child's point of view. Needless to say she got one too the year after and will continue to do so until whichever age they reach when you don't do parties/party bags anymore. It's all a learning curve isn't it but some of us seem to have steeper slopes than others !
