Help - DH and I have to run a village fete stall - and we have noooo idea what the hell it is?

We have been asked to run a tin can alley. Now Im guessing that it involves knocking over a pyramid of cans - however I've no idea how we score it (the committee have bought a prize for the overall winner), or whether we need to weight the cans or ?
Any village fete type people out there?

I wonder if the ones where jars lie on their bottoms and are numbered are easier to run. People could through ping pong balls into numbered jars and person with lowest number wins?
