did you use proper sausages or hotdog style sausages?

I am not sure if hotdogs and ice creams on their own is enough?

I have, used tinned hot dogs, kids loved it. Not sure if there were any cat bum faces from parents, none to my face anyway. Think I served with cucumber and carrot sticks which the kids ignored.

Think I put bowls if crisps out too. Just make sure you've got no veggies

Yes, my default party food, hot dogs (proper sausages) and margherita pizza. Token gesture of carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes that hardly get touched. Everyone always seems happy.

What are you heating on?
I think they are proper party food I would love it.

Just make sure there's cheese sandwich or something for vegetarians.
Very cheap option if you go for tinned and simpler to prepare.

I had limited cooking facilities at the venue so used tinned for both meat and veggie versions.

I also served some salad - cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, carrots. Also range of sauces. And plenty of hotdog rolls.

Then dessert.

No one complained. All children ate them. It was DD's choice and I was happy to oblige.

Have done a whole range of party food over the years - tbh I have never had any issues with children or parents.

Been to a party where we had tinned hotdogs in rolls with oven chips and ketchup. No semblance of veg provided.

Went down really well, tho several came back for more, iirc.

You can get nice veggie hotdogs too actually.

I buy Skinless sausages for hotdogs; DC are absolutely fine with these. I wouldn't touch tinned ones (yuck!).

You can get very realistic frozen veggie hot dogs at sainsburys etc I think quorn make them. I always cut hot dogs up for young kids as well I've heard they can be a choking hazard.

I've served them & also put out cucumber & carrot sticks & crisps. Had cheese rolls for any veggies. Had no cooking facilities at the venue so used the tinned ones & cooked them at home & kept them in flasks to keep warm.

Yes I've done them at 2 of DS's birthday parties - one was a football party so they fitted the theme somehow, the other was a den building party in the woods so I had the hotdog sausages in a thermos.

Allow 2 per child IMO as they go down well.

I've done hotdogs from a jar with rolls grated cheese optional and oven chips. Then birthday cake. I did put a bowl of grapes and cherry toms on table so it wasn't all stodgy stuff.

I've done this with proper sausages-cooked them at home first then heated up in oven at venue-one each in a crusty roll plus bowls of oven chips on the table. You dont need to do the token salad thing-its a party

If you go the chips route, there are these frozen fries that take 2 mins in the microwave and come out really crispy.

Hotdog sausages (well, ours were veggie tbh)

I am thinking about doing a half grapefruit wrapped in foil with cut up hot dogs on sticks, retro style. ( the kids are 9 so shouldn't really have a problem with the sticks hopefully!) will maybe do a cheese and pineapple one too.

Yes proper hot dogs and they have always gone down well. Have done a pizza and some chips with them too. Double up on hotdogs they usually want another. Usually have a fruit platter. Only because it always goes down really well also.

Our colour theme is red so was thinking of putting out halved cherry tomatoes, strawberries, peppers and red apple slices and cake and cornettos for dessert.
