We're considering booking an entertainer for ds's 6th bday party, but none of the websites quote prices. Anyone used one, and can give me some idea of what sor of cost and service we'll be looking at? Anyone recommend anyone? We're in Berkshire.

Berkshire? - Well Fred in the shed is quite good. Can't tell you the price because we were only guests at a recent party in Sandhurst. He held a group of 4 year olds rapt attention for at least an hour.

Fred in the shed? Sounds dubious . I'll check him out, thanks.

I phoned up for a quote yesterday. I was quoted £175 for 2 entertainers to come to our house and do a girlie disco, with dancing games, hair crimping and face painting. They would be at our house for 2 hours, with a 1/2 hour break when the kids had lunch. This was assuming that there were 15 children. I thought that it was a bit pricy for a 4 year olds birthday party. Maybe I'm tight!

We are in South Yorks, so not much help to you PC, but might give you an idea of cost.
We had an excellent one - Professor Smartly with his assistant Candy Floss (groan)(has done summer season at Bridlington and Scarborough) he was £110. He did disco, party games, magic tricks (involved the children too), balloon modelling, and the price included all prizes. He was there for 3 hours. He organised everything too - even playing 'Happy Birthday' tune for the candles being blown out, and distributed the party bags for us.
