Paris, no children, bliss.

Dinner and drinks with a small group of 8.
3 days in Venice with just DH (easyjet and cheapy - but fantastic - hotel in Mestre, over the bridge from Venice). Birthday is April, so very warm but nice and quiet and not smelly like August Grin

DH's 30th came and went. His 40th came and went (last year). I'm sure my 40th will come and go (next year) although it'd be nice to go away, maybe back to Sicily where we met. I'll probably do another small dinner, too.

Tbh no one I know did anything amazing for their 30th, or 40th.

What do YOU feel like doing? Would people be able to afford to join you if you did a trip/had a blow-out dinner+disco night?

Er... I mean the first paragraph ^^ is what I did!

DH took me to Paris too - stayed at George V - that won't be happening again any time soon!

Hope you have a great 30th - when it comes!

I was 40 + 4 weeks preggers.
I had a membrane sweep and was on a 24 hour urine sample collection. (I.e. Weeing in a big brown container).

I stayed in. Wink

Short break in Copenhagen. No kids then.

I also don't know anyone who did anything 'big' for their 30th (or 40th for that matter).

DH is 50 soon and we're planning a bigger than normal holiday with the kids.

I'm 40 in October and I've booked a villa for me , to relax and do nothing

I plan to make it a big deal as I didn't do anything memorable for my 30th

Thanks for the replies Smile sounds like some of you had lovely 30ths! To be honest I hadn't really thought about doing anything for my 30th until a few people asked me what I'm planning, as if I should be planning something!

Leaving the kids with their grandparents and having a weekend away with dh sounds nice to me Smile

It was mine last week! We had a small (surprise) party, which was nice. But on the day, we went to London to see a show which I had wanted to see for years. We didn't stay over, but it was special I think because it was something different and something I wanted to do for a long time.

I got taken to a very posh restaurant by my dp (now dh), and then to a hotel were I was spoilt rotten but got no sleep Wink
