Ideas for a football party, without actual football?

DS1 is going to be 8.

He is football mad. He would like to invite 6 fiends to his party, some really like football, some not so much and some not at all. We can't afford the whole organised footie parties and for 6 it probably isn't worth it.

For Christmas he is getting a football table so I was thinking we could have some kind of tournament. We don't have space for actual football although I might be able to set up some sort of dribbling timed game down the corridor.

Does anyone have any ideas for footie good/games etc that don't require an outdoor space. We will probably have a number if more traditional games too.

How about a quiz?, obviously about football. Food wise I'd just stick to pizza, oven chips that sort of thing.

pinyata shaped liked a football

balloon games - pretend it is a football - pass it over.under - no hands

how many headers

pin the football on the footballer - like pin the tail

Can you not go the park and play football games?

His birthday is in Feb and the weather is notoriously unreliable at that time of year.

I like the idea of substituting ball for balloon.

We had a full on quiz party last year, it was great fun but when it comes to footie trivia it will be not so great for everyone else as DS1 knows EVERYTHING!!! He is less good at the practical elements but reads everything about football from history to this weeks results!!
