Katie Morag themed party for 5 year old, ideas please!

Party bag ideas... I have so far:

Highland Toffee
a mini KM book
welly boot shaped biscuit
Notepaper and envelopes as a letter writing set

all packed in a paper bag which I will print up with "Isle of Struay Shop and Post Office"

I wanted welly boot shaped rubbers but I can't find any.

I am a bit wary as DD1 who will be 5 could be the only child who knows about KM, although I believe a tv series is being made and could be on before the party (start of December). She is adamant that this is the theme she wants though!

For the cake, I thought easy - a rectangular letter with a stamp, addressed to Katie Morag McColl.

Games-wise, I thought of using the map of Struay for a treasure hunt, and a pass-the parcel.

There are only going to be 7 children including DD1 and DD2.

Any other suggestions? Thought I should work some tartan in there somewhere, a sheep or maybe a highland cow somehow!!

What a great party theme. good choice by your DD. DS knew all about KM by the time he started school. pre school had some of the books and we had others from the library. School also use the books.

put on the invites - come in your wellies.
if your feeling crafty- make a tartan sash for each guest to wear at party.

Pin the tail on the highland cow

YES to the Welly Wanging if it is a nice day not pouring with rain

And ceilidh music is a bril idea too.

DS1 would love this!

You can get tartan ribbon from florists for the cake and even the sashes.
Add bagpipe music to traditional games like pass the parcel, musical statues/bumps etc.
