Raft building party

My 12 year DD wants to have raft building party in October. Do you have any experience with this type of party? I'm worried it will be cold and what they are going to wear? The party organiser says swimming costume but I'm not convinced. It would be on the river. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I think October sounds quite late in the year to be in just swimming costumes! Could you do the party early while the weather's still ok?

Think they'd definitely need more than swimmers by October. It could be very cold! Wetsuits maybe, but a cossie only - brrr!
