Entertainers for ds's bar mitzva party at end Sptember have cancelled on me! They were going to do all the entertainment activities across all age groups.

I'm in a total panic now. I don't know who or how to find someone suitable at this late stage.

Could you ask the ones who cancelled on you to suggest an alternative?

ILoveAFullFridge · 16/08/2013 21:01

Unfortunately they can't.

Basically I need to start from scratch.

I have no idea what sort of entertainment you are looking for at a bar mitzva party - can you ask friends who have had similar parties?

ILoveAFullFridge · 16/08/2013 21:09

He's the first in his year group at the religion classes, I'm not particularly friends with any of the parents in his year group so I don't have phone numbers, and won't be seeing them until term begins inSeptember.

It doesn't really matter that its a bar mitzva, more that its a cross-generational party in a hall, for a 13yo boy, and with most if the kids being 12-13, but also many younger siblings.

I need ideas!

The entertainers were going to set up games, puzzles, activities, etc. think holiday camp/guides/scouts type things.

Whereabouts are you? Someone may be able to recommend someone. Or can you google how to organise a bar mitzvah? Sorry if that is naive!

A magician? I went to a wedding where they had a magician walking around & on stage doing tricks in between the ceremony & the gaps between the dinner courses. He was very good & well received by the cross generational audience from 2 - 80 years old.

Get this moved to AIBU for the traffic as you will get a lot more suggestions.
