Great Father's Day presents

Hi - I could do with some help with finding a lovely Father's Day present for DH. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and he's been a complete legend keeping DS (age 2) occupied and doing everything around the house while I've been sick. Plus he's a terrible cook and has been living off sandwiches and cereal ever since I've been too sick to go near the kitchen.

Any ideas? He's into fishing, photography and is getting more into DIY recently - but please share any good ideas so we can all steal your ideas benefit from your creativity!

Hello nomore. I know how you feel - I'm pregnant and hubby has really stepped up with care of our dd (age nearly 2). I really want to do something special so dd and I are making an arty collage and having it framed for fathers day.
The library might have a good book on crafty things you can make together to give you inspiration.
Also, if you don't feel up to making something, notonthehighstreet.com have very nice personalised gifts for sale.

Thanks for the reply - I'd thought of notonthehighstreet.com as well - it's my go-to place for great presents.

If I asked him what he wanted he'd say a shed or some tools (he's building DS a farm at the moment) but that doesn't seem special enough. A shed would be a big surprise though (but isn't cheap - although at 8 weeks pregnant I can't exactly do much clothes shopping at the moment!).

He likes to be careful with money so anything over the top would be met with quiet disapproval!

Just remembered another idea I had - picking out his favourite Instagram photos and framing them. Pretty sure he'd love that!

That's a nice idea. Or I might line them up lots in one frame but leave a gap and 'help' DS write 'love you Daddy' or something.

Also if we've had a scan by then I could make that one of the photos

We do little hand prints and finger prints that come out very cute.
You could add a few cut out hand prints to your pics.

Also if you can manage the hoards ikea do good cheap frames.

I'm just in the mindset since ordering one of these for the in-laws yesterday, but what about a hamper or gift basket full of things eg for fishing, or as snacks to have when he's out? I used this hamper company and they let you leave room to include anything else that you want in the basket (and the baskets are lush!)

What about hand making him a card? My hubby loves the handmade look! The Imagination Station (Facebook page) have some lovely card making kits

We have given the same thing once a year for the last 10 years.

A framed photo starting with DD1 holding up an I lve you sign and then DD1 & DD2 and then a few years later 3 DDs with I Love You t-shirts made by themselves etc etc

Every year the framed photo gets replaced with the new one and everyone in the office will make a comment on the girls getting older etc.

Some lovely ideas. Thank you! DS isn't really into crafts but he does like drawing a little bit now although you do need imagination to appreciate them! (he's 26 months)

Can I recommend looking on Pinterest? It is a little addictive, but a quick search for Father's Day gifts throws up loads of easy-ish ideas. My current fave is 'Daddy rocks' - a decorated rock! Which my non-crafty 3yr old really wants to do.
