Party favours

Hi all, was just wondering what you'd spend on children's party favours for ages 6-12 years?? After a few years of plastic rubbish in a bag,(!) I would prefer to give one good present rather than lots of little things....any suggestions appreciated please? Thank you

I'd go to the pound shop tbh and buy a cuddly and tue a label round its neck with a note from my child asking the recipient to look after me. Anything you will give will be in the back of the toybox within half hour, whatever you do

go the The Book People and get the 10 books for a tenner and put a book and some sweets in the bag.

It depends on how many children I'm catering for. Last year DD (12th birthday) only had 3 friends and they each got a CD single, a nail varnish, a body spray, a pair of funky socks, bobbles, a hairbrush, a 1D badge and retro sweets.

DS1 (8th birthday) had about 20 friends ages ranging from 1-9, the littles ones got a bath toy £1 from Asda, and a chocolate lolly, and the older ones got a packet of felt tips got some bargain crayola ones £1 a pack, some colouring pages, and a fancy cup cake.
I try and get things which are usable or edible.

Funky/character socks always go down quite well. You can get then cheaply in packs from Primark etc and split them up.

Coloring books with crayons can be good option.

I am a big fan of the plastic tat. It's what they love after all.

Never spent more than £1 per child and try to pick up bargains in advance.
Have done books, pencil tins, filled mugs, funky socks and mits, egg cups with creme eggs, wallets, purses, bubble bath.
Lucky dips are handy if you have a selection of rubbish gifts.
