What did/will you buy yr DS when he's 7?
He has asked for a playmobil aeroplane but TBH I think he's a bit old for it and is just asking for something to think of IYSWIM.
He likes the usual boys bits - Bionicles, Star Wars, Scooby Doo, Magnetix. I guess we are looking at something up to about £30.
Are we into the world of PS2 here? We don't have any of that stuff and I'd like to hold off for a bit longer
Any ideas?

scooter, bike, roller skates, cricket set, football goal?

CD player?

ooh roller skates might be a good idea. Do I get roller blades or the 4-wheel ones? (if they still exist)
I also like the idea of an experience, Panda. Wonder what he would like. Will have to do some local research.

bionicles are top toys here, and for £30 he could either have a fab selection of the new ones, or one of the bigger sets.

ds is just 8 and still loves Playmobil ! There is a nice football set out for the World Cup if he's into it. ds had the Narnia game for his Gameboy for his 8th b'day and have also got him a Flashing Storm scooter to replace an old one. Other recent successes are interactive Thunderbirds , science kits (National Geographic do good ones) and Geomag/Magnetix.
