"Wintery" food for kids to eat at disco pary

DDs party (6) next year and I am starting to plan, She wants a disco with a snow/ice theme. Lots of white/blue/silver, Gah. Snowflakes and glitter on everything.
I need to do food for 20 - 30 kids ( not yet sure if I have tables but I don't think so - am thinking picnic style). Just nibbles for adults.
Ideally I want to keep it simple - no too much choice. Am thinking sausage sandwiches or a similar "warming" sort of grab-and-eat item with bowls of crisps and salad bits and then ice cream cones and white cupcakes afterwards. I am envisioning a big tray of sausages, a big pile of buns, ketchup and a queue of kids.
Is this madness? What other easy "winter" ideas can you think of? And what about the cake??!!

love the idea of sausage sarnies, or hotdogs could work too with fried onions and squeezy mustard.

don't bother with ice cream cones though, that is madness!

Could you do massive trays of new potatoes, baked in the oven, with forks to spear them with and dips like salsa, sour cream, mayonnaise?

Non-alcoholic mulled wine with grape juice and spices?

I would avoid the salad bits, maybe do corn on the cobs instead or something like that.

Little paper cups of Heinz tomato soup (or homemade if you can be arsed and/or if they will eat it)

Cake- how about a Yule log type cake with snow, robins etc and choc Swiss roll?

Why are cones madness? Mess? Production? Meltage? Was thinking it was fun/memorable/a good way to occupy my slightly socially dangerous in laws.. Can't you see it working?

Oooh yes! Potatoes!! Worried big ones might be tricky for picnicking.. Maybe wedges and dips. I am going to have to give them sodding bowls aren't I?!
Marshmallows?

I just see cones = messy all over the floorness. and cold. But then, I am in bed with my fleece socks on as I am so cold so ice cream makes me shiver! Sorry did not mean to crush you! love it all apart from cones

Its OK - not crushed , just think I my have bitten off more than I can chew!l You snuggle down and keep the inspiration coming Pavlov! Perhaps I will act as the Official Cones-at-an-indoor-winter-Party Tester. Will feed back!

I think it sounds like fun as you have it! I always bite off more than I can chew with parties and it always works out fun in the end. I did pasta/creamy pesto and pizza slices for DSs (3yr) party this year with some fruit salad for those parents who wanted more than haribos for their child's tea. Did not intend to (or even have a party really just ended up with a lot of people coming!) I was in the supermarket with my nibbles list, feeling very cold and thinking 'why am I doing sandwiches and mini sausages? it's winter! So revised. Did cakes, jelly and birthdate cake for pudding. Warm is definitely a success this time of year.

Remember. Children don't eat much at parties, so keeping it simple is good. I think your first idea of sausages, buns, tomato sauce is a great idea. No plates, knives or forks needed, just napkins. No room for messing around, kids will love it, eat, then dance and play.

At DDs birthday, we got chips for the children (not a party, just met in a beer garden after taking her to theatre, kids ran, adults drank beer!) for about 10 children, and they ate very little of it, too busy playing
