When to hand out invites?

stupid question?!? Doing party for DD this year for first time, it's her 3rd bday. I am keen to be as organised as poss as I'll be 3 weeks off due date with 2nd by then. We won't be inviting loads for this reason so am also keen that those we invite can make it if they want to. The party is first weekend of Dec so when can I get invites handed out?

2.5-3 weeks before the event.

I would do it now if you know what you are doing and want to be sure people can attend

I've text everyone 4 weeks before as it can be a busy weekend and so far everyone is coming

4 weeks before, and leave off a vital piece of information (like time or place) and say "RSVP for more info" so that you aren't chasing people or having to make 20 party bags just in case. If they don't know where it is, they can't just show up
