Idease for small party for 8 yr old - 3 or 4 kids?

DS is getting a big present, so his party will be small. I was thinking about movies and tea (MacDonalds or the like) but that can add up, too, can't it?

Any other ideas about what we can do that is not too expensive?

Most cinemas have a Saturday pictures kids club which works out cheap. Depends what they have showing as its not usually current releases.

home cinema? DVD, popcorm and pizza at home? can make invites look like tickets etc

cooking party? make your own pizza (and then eat it), and own ice cream sundae. can also make biscuits. play games involving guess the ingredient from the smell and blindfold tasting. Takes a bit of effort but not much
