So I have a fancy dress party to go to. The theme is Top of the Pops/anything remotely connected with music. I'm 40, about 5'3" and around a 10/12 in size - but let me tell you anything skin tight or cropped is definitely out.
Does anyone have any brilliant ideas? I am by no means averse to wigs, make up or looking silly (up to a point).
My thoughts so far:
Florence Welch (long chiffony dress, red wig, deathly pale make up)
Shania Twain in That Don't Impress Me Much (leopard print jumpsuit and leopard print hoodie...nice)
Dusty Springfield (long black dress, heavy eye make up, blonde bouffant)
Tiffany (batwing jumper, jeans, hoop earrings, red wig)
Kids from Fame (lycra and legwarmers)
I want to avoid the obvious Spice Girls/Amy Winehouse/Abba type of thing but to be honest it's really hard to come up with women in pop who have a strong image that isn't just about being half naked...
