Ds1 is having a 6th birthday party on Wednesday at home. Whole class invited. Have had 6 text to decline, and about the same verbally to accept. It being summer holidays, have heard nothing from the other 18 kids!

Does no RSVP mean not comming? Forgotten? Taken as read that they are coming?!

Send txt reminders to all individually asking if little johnny etc are coming to party. Annoying I know, but I find it's the only way!

I can't as don't have their numbers! Will just have to wait and see?

Hi Captain!
When and how were the invites handed out?

captainbarnacle · 24/08/2012 13:54

Hello,
Well, party has been and gone and about 20 turned up in the end! So luckily all was well and there were enough for the party to feel busy - especially loud and noisy because they hadn't seen each other for a month.

Invites had been given out 4 days before end of term. A handful turned up without RSVP, half a dozen declined another half dozen went AWOL.

Next sibling birthday is a term time one, thankfully!

20's a great number. Glad it went well! Amen to term time birthdays. Next year, we're delaying it to first weekend when they're back to school. Family tea on the day, and big school party in term time!

I can't understand why parents don't keep you informed. I know it's not the most important thing in their lives but isn't it just manners?

Last year we had about 6 no replies, 2 said they were coming then didn't and one came without even replying to the invite Hmm

Glad you had a good turnout though.
