Help 50th B'day

Any ideas, totally stuck, family mem 50th b'day. He like music but wants the family together, partner wants to go away. No idea on costs. Dont want the usual sandwich and soggy crisp affair as this is a real special one. Please Help getting desperate.

We are having a weekend away for my FIL's 60th. 10 adults and 2 kids, so they get the family get together and a weekend away as well.

He didn't want a buffet and dancing in a function suite. In fact he was adiment he din't want all and sundry turning up for a dodgy DJ and soggy sandwiches.

So I think a weekend in a huge log cabin for close family is ideal. Everyone is paying for their own accomodation, bringing drink, and chipping in for food. So it works out not to bad for the 7 bed accom.
