Hi

I'm a mumpreneur and I'm looking at moving into doing some products for children's parties but I want to try and find out about more about the market. Wondered if you would help me with a few questions. There is a version of the questionnaire on my website as a competition but I don't just want to plug the website what I really need is the info.

How often do you have children's parties at home
Every year, Most years, sometimes, never

How much do you spend on a party?

Do your parties have a theme?

If you have a party what activities do you do?

We are going to be launching a new range of kits called Create and Show for kids' parties. Kids will make puppets and then act out a story. The kits will be low mess and everything you need will be included. Do you think this is something your kids might be like to do?

If we said there were educational benefits to our new kits Create and Show kits would it make you more likely to buy them

If we were able to offer a service where someone would be able to come to you and run a party with one of our Create and Show kits. Would you be interested? And how much would you be willing to pay?

Thank you Thanks

If you do want to answer online and enter the comp please message me as I don't want to add unsolicited links. The info is far more important to me.

How often do you have children's parties at home? Most years

How much do you spend on a party? £70 for home with party bags, food, prizes and decorations. £200 with a hall hire, entertainer or party place.

Do your parties have a theme? Yes Fireman, Pirate, Rainbow etc

If you have a party what activities do you do? Traditional party games at home.

My DCs are quite young for party crafts but maybe in the next couple of years.

Educational is great but more important to be fun for a party Smile

I would pay for entertainment but not for party planning as I love that bit. Would probably pay £60-£80 for the entertainment

HTH

Sounds like a great idea, not sure it would be something I would do simply because I always have to do my DS' parties on a tight budget but if I ever get a bit more cash it would be something I'd be interested in.

To answer your questions..

How often do you have children's parties at home
Every year until DS turned 5 (this is mainly down to space as we've moved to a smaller house and don't have the large garden we used to)

How much do you spend on a party?
Between £50-£100

Do your parties have a theme?
Yes, characters or pirates etc

If you have a party what activities do you do?
Pass the parcel, parachute games, musical statues etc.

We are going to be launching a new range of kits called Create and Show for kids' parties. Kids will make puppets and then act out a story. The kits will be low mess and everything you need will be included. Do you think this is something your kids might be like to do?

Yes definitely the making side but even my very confident DS but struggle with acting out in front of an audience. Maybe if there was a script/directions an adult could read out to help the children? Like... Batman puppet ran up to Superman puppet and said 'hello' ??! Probably not the best example but you get the idea lol!

If we said there were educational benefits to our new kits Create and Show kits would it make you more likely to buy them

Not really, like another poster said parties are about having fun, I stress enough about 'educating' my child without doing it at parties too!

If we were able to offer a service where someone would be able to come to you and run a party with one of our Create and Show kits. Would you be interested? And how much would you be willing to pay?
Yes, but as I said I have a tight budget and would only be able to push to £100 for entertainment.

Hope that helps a little and good luck as it's a really good idea x
