Joint birthday party

Hi there

My first son is 6 on 1st September, and his brother 3 on 13th October. I have booked a room for 29th September and having a joint birthday party. On their actual birthdays I was going to get them a separate small birthday cake each and invite their best friend over for tea.

the joint party I want to make as straightforward as possible. The room has a small outdoor play area, and I am booking a puppetshow and suggesting fancy dress. I was going to go for a bouncy castle, but I think there may be accidents, especially with little ones, as some of the older ones can get a little rough, also my eldest cant stand them. Will save me money too.

I am just a bit concerned that the party will be more about the eldest, because my 3 year will only really have about 7 nursery friends there, where as my eldest is inviting his class.

For food I am just doing mixed mini sandwiches and sausage rolls, cucumber and carrot sticks, tomatoes, ice cream and jelly, and was going to make a fun party cake for them both.

Just standard party bags with sweets, notepad and stickers. Doing separate 6 year old boys and girls, and 3 year old girls and boys will be too much for me, as I do it all on my own. Husband not very hands on and my mum died, so I want to keep it simple, but fun for them both, so they both feel special.

Many thanks
Amanda
