dinosaur party ideas

Ok, think we have the bare bones (!!) of a theme agreed (although birthday boy only 3 so may change his mind). About 11 children, 5 are 3yrs; 4 are 5yrs with two 7yr olds. More girls than boys. Need some ideas for games, have access to sports equipment. Hoping to be in garden/ park, but may need to modify if wet.

Ideas so far:-
Hunt for mini dinosaurs in sand (thought one box per family so older siblings help younger ones)
Dinosaur (chocolate) egg hunt
What's the time Mr T-Rex
Parachute game with mummy dinosaur and her eggs (balls) - have to keep the balls on the parachute.
Walk around room pretending to be dinosaurs (can do to music if inside)
I guess we could throw in a pass the parcel.

Any other ideas for games? I am assuming that most of the LO will be swept along with their older sibling, so can be a bit more complex than a normal 3yr old party.

Pin the dinosaur in the bucket (you know in a Harry and his bucketful of dinosaurs way)

Musical dinosaurs? You have to stand in a dinosaur pose when the music stops

Great theme sounds like fun :)

Oh yes pin dinosaur on sounds fun, infact we might be able to do a 3D dinosaur bucket, make the dinosaur jump in the bucket.. Not sure if ds will allow me to use them though!

Musical dinosaurs will be good unless we go to park, not sure yet which will be less hassle. Taking stuff to park or having house trashed.

dinosaur tails??

We had a dinosaur party for our 3 year old son a few months ago. One of the best games was called jelly swamp. I filled a giant glass bowl with green jelly and put plastic dinosaurs in it. The children took turns putting their hands in to find a dino. It gets a bit messy so you need a hand/ dino washing person. I collected the dinos and they went in the party bags at the end. The bowl took several layers of jelly and I let each layer set over night as the dinos float to the surface if you do it all at once.

Oh I like the dinosaur tails, not sure if I have the time to make 13, but could maybe manage 5, so 1 per family and do some sort of relay/ chase game with them. Wondering whether might be a good use of all the old holey trousers I've hoarded kept for a rainy day, mainly black but I could do coloured spines and maybe spots on them.

Also like the swamp idea, just got to decide between putting them in ice/jelly or sand. Have found some dinosaur sweets which I'm putting in jelly for pudding, could make that green jelly as it all tastes the same to me

Found an idea to make the invites as dinosaur magnets, so might do that too. Thanks for all the ideas.
