planning a wee party for DS for his 3rd birthday in September. he is keen on diggers at the moment, so I'm thinking of having a vague construction site theme, but am not totally sure what to do.
current plan is to have a chocolate cake with oreo crumb 'dirt' and have a small toy digger to stick on it to make it look like road works. food wise, nothing will be very themed, but may do car shaped cookies (can't find a digger cookie cutter!).
for activities, if last year is anything to go by, they will just be galloping about the garden destroying my plum tree 
but I thought a large tub of soil with some toys hidden in it and some spades for digging could be fun. but am not sure what else? any ideas?
there will be max. 8 x 3 year olds present (4 of each sex).
