ok going to a civil ceremony of two close gay male friends and haven't a clue what to get. It is the usual thing of them already having two(at least) of everthing them/expensive designery taste /large personal disposable income.

my budget is a bit limited..

do they have a garden? I always think a plant is a nice present - a rose or a bay tree

JanH · 22/02/2006 22:34

Something personal - do you have any photographs of them?

Otherwise a charity pres would be fab - World Vision alternative wedding gifts .

sorrel · 22/02/2006 22:34

one of them is a landscape gardener so it would have to be something a bit out of my league- but it was a good suggestion twwtswah!
maybe the matching towels....or the goat!!

sorrel · 22/02/2006 22:40

i have no idea how much they cost - I just love the idea cos it's a bit random. I keep thinking that one day I'll get dh one. How about nice baking stuff - cheap but can get some that is decent quality and therefore stylish. fancy biscuit cutters, loaf tins. If they're not into baking they maybe won;t have any. If they are then they could always do with more!

sorrel · 22/02/2006 22:58

i'd love a balloon ride too- sounds great.
sort of wish i had known they were going to italy for a holiday and i could have got them something like tickets to the opera in venice or something equally swanky.
alessi would be nice, but too pricy i think. I am only going to the evening do as the rest is just for family so i was hoping £30-£40 would do it.-just can't afford much more at the moment as have only started to put money away for a weeks family holiday...

how about silicone cake tins? they are so fab. but prosaic, ok, more elegant pres needed, do you/your child/children make anything which can be packaged nicely? ooh get kids to do portraits of happy couple, stick loads of confetti/rice over top if unflattering, frame, voila...

My brotehr is getting married too and I am stuck! I like the idea of getting a toaster though, eveyone that gets married has to have one!
