I would buy a few big bags of sweets & have dd offering them to her guests when they leave. My Dd is 8 & we have done this for a couple of years now, goes down well.

I think crafts are nice - what about handmade fimo badge for each girl with their name on?

I usually buy sets of books from The book People - Roald Dahl are good for this age group or sticker books? Regarding how much to spend - as little as possible Grin I would aim for about £1 per bag.

You could try raiding the 99p and poundshop for things like pens, notebook sets etc to split up. Also good place for lots of little sweets.

Pound shop tat - hair bobbles, marker pens etc. Small bouncy balls, yo-yos etc. Get multi packs of mini haribos and lolly mix, few of those in each.

Proper party bags are meant to be full of rubbish! Grin

Sainsburys is often quite good for nice hair accessory stuff very cheap. Gel pens in nice colours go down well, and smelly rubbers. I grab stuff 70% off from the Accessorise January sale, but I realise that's not much help for you.

I love party bags me.

How about jubilee themed party bags?

Its my daughters 8th birthday in Oct and already sorted the party bags...

We have :

Butterfly shaped lipglosses (butterfly themed party)
Smelly highlighters
Gel pen
Memo pad (pack of 8 from 99p store)
Push up colour pencil
Shaped elasticate band
rings
Balloon
Striped sweetie bags filled with sweets

-boys have the same apart from the rings and lipglosses and they have whoopie cushions and Mario badges instead.....
