I'm stuck for ideas about how to celebrate DD's birthday this year. Until now it's always been a whole-class party in a church hall, but they've outgrown that. Sleepover not possible as her room would only fit one other person in it. Any other ideas?

What about a select few friends for a movie? You could buy some sweets and take your own popcorn maybe to keep costs down.

We like that idea - I suppose it depends what's out at the time, too - birthday towards the end of June so just before all the big summer holiday releases...

DD2 is 7 in 3 weeks (!!) Have been looking at craft style parties, but they are expensive, so have decided on a DIY arty party! So far, looking at buying a few porcelain paint markers and some plates (wilkos have some for a pound it looks like)to decorate. Would she like something like this? They will be making their own pizzas as well and decorating cupcakes.
Was planning on just a few of her friends.

Check out the Baker Ross website Stretch. Brilliant for craft stuff.

For Sven year olds I would try to buy a whole load of beads and have a make your own necklace party.

That could be a good idea for us, too. Any other thoughts?

Making their own pizzas is a a good idea as they can eat these for their party tea. Decorating cup cakes, making chocolate crispy cakes is also easy. Finally, how about doing some cool designs with nail varnish?
